SAVE THE FILM INDUSTRY!

If SAG votes to strike, our year is over!
If the SAG contract negotiations take much longer and film producers continue holding off on starting new projects out of fear, then the crew people will suffer the most.
The CREW people, the "Below the Line" folks who work the hardest and without whom, no production can succeed or even start. The crew people who do not share in residuals, downloads and all the other points that SAG members are haggling over.
SAG, so far, you pretty much have gotten everything you have demanded during the negotiations. Don't destroy the rest of the industry over a few MINOR sticking points. We were just starting to recover from the earlier writer's strike and now this nonsense.
Isn't it a shame that some groups think they are absolutely indispensible to productions? In fact, no one person or class of people are irreplaceable. We are all part of the production team that is necessary to make a movie or TV show.
If this is not already obvious, then try making a project without wardrobe or hair/makeup or grips or lighting or camera or sound or even P.A.'s.
The current economy will not continue to support outrageous salaries and benefits. Gasoline is approaching $5.00 per gallon. That alone now adds an extra 20% to an overall budget because fuel is linked to every aspect of our lives and to every department.
BELIEVE THIS! The industry will only remember the last strike. The writers won't be held in contempt but SAG surely will and by all affected crew people. The people who cannot currently meet their monthly obligations. The people who cannot feed their families. In other words, the same people that all actors work side by side with on every project.
PRODUCERS! This applies to you as well. Put the greed on hold for the good of the industry that has thus far paid your bills!
We need to get back to work NOW!
Sign the damned contract and let's GO!!!!!
